History

SHU SIFE is dedicated to helping our community by incorporating business education and the principles of the free enterprise system. By working in the near by economically depressed city of Brigdeport, students get the opportunity to use their classroom experience to gain real life knowledge.

With the aid of Dr. Bridget Lyons, SHU SIFE was founded on Sacred Heart University Campus in 1999. In our rookie year we competed in regional competitions, won Rookie of the Year and advanced to Nationals. In 2002 we placed in regionals and advanced to nationals again. 2003 is our third consecutive year placing in regional competitions and moving on to nationals in Kansas City.

SHU SIFE has worked on many projects throughout the years (Projects), and have been recognized on Sacred Heart University's Campus as a very influencial, innovative and strong club. We do many service learning projects and offer 1 credit per semester to students involved in SIFE.

Our members range from business majors to political science majors on to spanish majors. We are a very diverse group and this aids us in being creative and inventive. In the past years we have gone from Building Futures to having The Sky the Limit and now onto Takin' Care of Business. Our presentations and projects have taken SIFE by storm each year and have given us the reputation we continue to uphold.
